I hope someone that had similar experience and later solved it will be able to shed more light on what should be expecting from CIC or MIDI, maybe CIC will later send another SA and how long it will take them to send it

Hi Everyone, I just joined this forum but for several weeks l've been reading many things from different people. I guess it's my turn to be part of the family...lol, I applied for my husband and cic received application since December 02, 2014, I received AOR since 24th of February 2015.....26th and 27th l received SA approval as inland application instead of Out land Application and l was told to apply for the CSQ in which l did but to my surprise yesterday 13th of March 2015, l received another email from CIC that there was an error in the previous approval sent to us, they said they will get back to us but l don't know if l need to call CIC or MIDI because we've applied for the CSQ already and when do you think the SA will come through again, what do l need to do, call them or wait for them to send correct SA, anybody with such experience? Thanks in advance, God bless.

If you read back a bit there are several people in December that are going through the exact same situation as you have. Most sent in the initial letter but then later received actual SA and sent that once they had received it.

I'm going back a few pages re: when people received that notice from CIC saying ignore the previous request sent to you on Feb 26/27th requesting your CSQ... Here's my situation:

I received my Sponsor approval on the 25th of February (yay), on that Sponsor approval it tells you to apply for a CSQ and include the Sponsor Approval letter.

THEN we received an ADDITIONAL letter that CPC Mississauga sent on Feb 26th/Feb 27th requesting the CSQ again.

When I applied for the CSQ to MIDI I included BOTH letters, the Sponsor Approval AND the separate one from MISS. requesting CSQ.

THEN I got that notice that was mentioned saying to ignore the message sent on the 26th/27th and NOT to apply for a CSQ. Which I have already done by the way, it was received on March 5th by MIDI.

And now I'm really worried as to why Mississauga would send me a CSQ request and then be like, oh wait, nevermind, that was a mistake, don't apply for CSQ, when I have already received my Sponsor Approval!

Did this happen to anyone else?

They mean don't apply for CSQ with the incorrect letter, if you've since received your official SA (or had received it even before the wrong letter) then yes you apply for your CSQ. They are simply stating that there was an incorrect letter sent, so if you still had not received your SA then to wait until you do before submitting to MIDI.

I am only a little worried as the letter said something like, we have contacted MIDI... I hope that MIDI realizes we actually have the right letter in there ALONG with the wrong one and don't just disregard the wrong one!

Somehow the email from CIC didn't show up in Inbox, but showed up when I searched "CIC" in the mail box.

Anyway, got SA on Mar 10! Ecas is still not updated though.

I'm a Canadian born citizen thats living in Toronto,ON and married my husband June 2014 in South Africa Johnnessburg. I filled his sponsor papers to CIC on November 2014 and got my first approval as a sponsor Feburary 2015. My problem is I was told that we can choose our own visa but instead I totally missed that part and left it blank and assuming that they will make our visa office near where my husband lives which South Africa vo is Pretoria but that wasn't the case they told us our vo is in Nairobi. So i honestly don't know how that happened and my husband is also a refugee claimant in South Africa so I wanted to know since his visa office is in Nairobi when they start looking at his file are they going to ask him to come to kenya for interview knowing he has no passport and no way to travel there ? Are they going to transfer his file to Pretoria since is closer ?? Can anyone help me on answering the question if you have similar experience or know someone that this happened to and have knowledge on what these people would do in cases like that I would greatly appreciate it thankssss

unfortunately, the ability to choose your visa office was taken out of the application form in november and CIC has the right to send it to the country of citizenship, not the current country of residence. You can try to contact the visa office through a case specific inquiry and request a transfer based on his status. Other than that, at this point the only thing that can be done is to contact your member of parliament in your area, relay the issue (your husband is a refugee claimaint) and ask them if they are willing to inquire on your behalf. CIC must respond to mp requests, they don't have to respond to applicant/sponsor requests.

did you sign up for correspondence through email or regular mail? If it was email try checking your spam or junk. I didn't see my SA until a week after it was sent because it was put in my junk folder. and I only found it because i searched CIC in my inbox.

Email is my correspondence. I even added the cic email to my VIP folder . Just worried if ot's only me who is not yet receiving SA.
