Just got this;

Good Morning

Please submit the document for review. The conviction may not affect your admissibility to Canada. You include a letter of explain nation regarding the offence when lodging the QLD Traffic History.

Hoping I'm all good but I guess we'll find out. Can you believe that fine is $156! For not voting! Ridonkulous.

Dear immigration gods,
Please no more hiccups, I simply can't take it.

I really don't know how the laws are in Australia, but I can relate to your voting story, because I have something similar. I've also been residing outside of my home country, and my mother kept receiving letters addressed to me regarding voting. Because in my country, if you change residence, you are obligated to inform the authorities of your new address. So I was threatened with a fine too, if I hadn't told them my new address. I changed my residence from my home country to where I live now (lost my national ID card, because go figure, if I don't reside in my home country, I can't have one) and guess what? They're sending me letters here in Germany, to vote. They even have special venues at the embassy and consulate to facilitate the voting.

I guess some countries take the voting pretty seriously. I'm thinking maybe you got a fine for the same reason I was going to get fined. I didn't inform them of my change of address.

Just take it easy, explain to them in a separate letter the fine was for not voting. You've had some stress since your file reached the VO, I have no doubt lots of us here will get requests for all sorts of things from the VO (hopefully not though). Just do your best and in the end everything will be ok. You guys will see, we'll all be looking back at this laughing and thinking: "what a bad dream".

Uggggh yup, that sounds like my country. It's ridiculously hard to try and get information let alone CHANGE information from overseas. Not voting is not a criminal offense so I'm sure I'll be all good. Going to try and fix this soon, don't like having a little cloud hanging over me... You know... Especially when I'm already standing outside in the tropical storm that is immigration without an umbrella.

I just compiled an extra 8 pages of photos and more proof of cohabitation (a letter each from every month at the same address going back about a year an a half). I'm going to send this into Sydney next week. Just to put my mind at ease... As a guesture of good faith haha.

Ahhhh!!! We went down to page 2 :o

Have a great day everyone!

Oh my!! Need some more movement from our VO's now!! Have a good day also :)

Anyone else watching the Canadian men's hockey game? Though not a blow-out of a score, we are looking good!

Hi guys,

I'm not sure if you're tracking this data, but we just got our CSQ (Quebec) today. We send it on January 24 and received it today February 13.

Oh wow, I just realized I've never voted... But I think there hasn't been a presidential election in Brazil since I turned 18. I got the Police Certificate from Japan anyway so I hope it doesn't matter. :-[

Goood morning everyone..
been long time...
so watzz up with u all....

hope all waiting to hear something from their respective Offices.

:D

Good day !!

Happy Valentine's Day all! :-*

It's hard being separated from my honey today. Thank god for Skype/Facetime!

Here's hoping that next Valentine's day we'll get to be together with our loved ones in Canada.

I guess this is one of the holidays that many people feel extra down at being away from their loved ones :(

I personally am not into the whole Valentines day stuff, and neither is my husband (how boring :P)

But the only good thing is I'm looking forward to visiting him a bit next month, so that's what's keeping me going right now.

Hang in there everyone, and have a great weekend!

I don't think this eternal winter is helping lift the spirits. :(

Happy Valentine's everyone! I just know many of us will be with our loved ones next year!

Awww Wifey, I hope you will get to at least talk to him today. I know that will help a bit. Sometimes we just have more of a down day than other days.

I honestly wish I could say don't worry guys, our spouses will be here before Xmas this year...... It really should be like that across the board. To me it's kind of cruel for people to be waiting for more than 6 months, worse yet over a year.
