Just wondering if any of the Canadian sponsors had given any thought into filing taxes this year. Anyone know what you are supposed to do when your spouse isn't a resident, doesn't have a SIN, and works full-time in another country? Do I just report $0 when it asks for his federal net income? Or do I report his American earnings? Do I put in "000-000-000" for a SIN?

His income reported would have to be nil, as only as a Resident are you taxed on your worldwide income.

Hi everyone. My partner and I submitted our application for common-law sponsorship at the beginning of December. According to our Royal Mail tracking number, it was received by the Mississauga office on Dec. 17th. However, we have yet to received AOR and I am starting to get extremely worried. Has anyone else had a similar experience? From what I have read, most people don't have to wait this long… We are both living in the UK at the moment so I have not been able to get through to the CIC call centre. If anyone has a phone number that can be reached from abroad, it would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you so much.

if you are using iphone, ipad or ipad mini you can install "magic jack" you can use it to call numbers in US and Canada for free using an internet connection.. hope this help.. good luck on your application..
