Good day and Happy Valentine's!

My wife sent our application to CPC-M on the 3rd week of December and until now, February 14 (Manila time), there are no responses/mail/AOR from them.
Is this normal? Because we are getting worried. :-[

What date did CPC-M receive it (as per courier or Canada Post)?

Rec'd via email :)

This confirms that your application for permanent residence in Canada has been received by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) on 2013/01/31.

Please update spreadsheet for AOR from VO

Thanks

Can somebody shed some light on this for me, before ecas went down it said a decision had been made for sponsorship on Jan 23 and a letter was sent out. When ecas came back on-line this week it had changed to this "We received your application to sponsor Pei Shan Wu on December 31, 2012.

We started processing your application on January 23, 2013.

We sent you a letter on January 23, 2013 about the decision on your application. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us."

I haven't got a letter from cic about this at all and am not sure if I should wait it out or contact them about the "letter sent" part. ( also I'm not even sure who to email :-[ )

If you're reading that in the sponsorship part, then you can try and call CIC ( call center), and they should be able to tell you on the phone if you have been approved as a sponsor or not. Most likely, you have, unless there is something very specific about your application. Check the spam folder. Sometimes CIC sends an email, sometimes it's a letter. Letters can take a bit to arrive, but now it's more than 3 weeks, you can contact them.
Sweden

Thanks for the response Sweden, I have checked the spam folders (regularly) and nothing there, would anyone know the number if you are calling from abroad? I can only find the toll free number for inside Canada.

Unfortunately I don't think the call center is reachable from outside of Canada.

If you have a trustworthy friend or family member you could get them to call for you, while on hold (with CIC which has about a 10 min wait) make a three way call (to you) then you can do the talking....

Another option is of course giving your information to them and skipping the whole three way call aspect. But I suggested it because I know myself, and I would want to hear the information first hand.

I believe you may be able to call it from skype but I don't know for sure. I called various other 800 numbers while in Egypt with skype it was a bit choppy every now and then but the calls connected.

Good luck!

Hello Treefour :)
There is still a problem with ECAS... You rec'd your sponsorship approval on January 23, 2013 according to the spreadsheet. A few of us have seen the status on ecas change from decision made to in process... Did you receive the sponsorship approval via email?? If you did you won't be getting a letter from CIC-M.

No thats's the trouble, ecas changed to "decision made and letter sent" but I never got a email, so I thought it would be a letter. Then ecas went down so I thought I would wait it out. When ecas came back online it says " in process and letter sent", but stil no email or letter. I'm hoping there's no problem....

1 or 2 days after the email stating sponsorship was approved we were able to access Ecas... and it showed Decision made on the sponsorship side... and application rec'd and medicals rec'd on the applicants side.
When Ecas went down 2 weeks ago... we couldn't get in with any information... then when it came back up it was showing the sponsorship side as in process and we sent a letter... this morning the ecas is showing decision made on the sponsorship side again :)
I am very confident that you have been approved as a sponsor and now you just have to wait... the hardest part :(
On another note we sent an note to Singapore to change applicants address... when it was submitted it said to allow up to 28 days for change to be processed... this morning the address is showing updated... 3 days!!
Have a great weekend everyone :)

Question Why does it say In process for the sponsorship part ...while it was saying Decision Made befor? anyone have an idea?
