I did the same thing as you did. I didn't correct it and I successfully got my PR.

In an additional sheet to explain the details of cohabitation, I clearly wrote 'start to cohabit on DDMMYYYY' and that's the date I put in the form as well.
I don't think they saw my form as misrepresentation.

Several people have actually told stories on here that they mistakenly put the date down wrong like the OP did, and still got PR app approved no problem. They didn't actually discover the mistake until someone told them after they already had PR status. It's quite possible it's a common error, and the VO will notice and simply make the correction themselves.

At the very least, I don't think it warrants sending in a brand new doc update. If anything, they will first question you about it and request you to send a new doc if required, at which point you can do so. Of course if it will ease your mind to send an corrected doc as soon as possible, then there is nothing wrong with that either.
Lol that makes me feel better

We did the same thing and never corrected it. We had no problems getting my partners PR, but you might as well correct it if you have the chance!

Taken directly from the sponsorship guide:
Note: This is the date your status officially changed from being single to common-law, not the date you started living together.

We did the same mistake and did not even realize it until long after getting PR when I was reading the forum. I think it's a non-issue. If you are filing common-law then you are likely providing a 6" stack of paper that shows the dates you lived together so the officer is going to well aware of the date you became common-law.
They probably put a note in the guide because so many people were putting down the wrong date.

Damn I also noticed on the application to sponsor the relation to principal applicant was filled in as spouse instead of common law obviously the whole application I stated common law and filled common-law do I really need to refill this form and send to Ottawa VO after SA to prevent cic from denying my app due to misrepresentation?
