Thank you so much for updating us. I am really happy that your case is done. Hopefully you will meet each other again soon. I think you travelled two times to syria during your application time and went to the embassy in person. Am I right ? Do you think this had an impact on the process ?
they requested additional documents, what did they exactly asked for ? ( I think in your case it was certificate of your marriage and questionnaire, right?)
And finally you told that you sent them an email. Could you please clarify this ? What did you tell them ? And what did they replied ? How long did it take to get their reply ?

To be honest with you guys every time I was in Syria I when to the embassy for an update and everytime I got something from them they made mistakes sending requested documents.... They did not email me anything because they wrote the email address wrong..

I believe by me being there made a difference..

Best of luck to everyone... I hope everyone gets visas soon..

Nothing for me and my patience is running really thin now.. I am sick and tired of them.

I do know a friend who got his passport request on Nov 9th. They were in process since May 5th.

I sent an email to the embassy and they told me I am in queue... "The never ending queue"

Hello,

I have been following this forum for a while but this is my first time writing... I am trying to bring my wife from Iraq through Damascus office... The first medical exam expired (since I submitted the application 3 months after doing medical exam) so we had to redo it... She did her medical exam on Oct 1, 2010... I emailed after a month asking what has happened and they said that they are waiting for medical exam results... they emailed me 4 days ago (Nov 21) saying "Please be advised that we have just received the medical results and that the application is now in queue for review. Please be patient as we will contact you when the application reaches the next stage of processing"

How long does it take usually for them to request passport! and how long does it take till they return the passport!

Any help is highly appreciated.

Hi Razan, Thanks for trying to help me out!

This is my timeline:

Application sent to Canadian visa sometime in Jan
The application started in Damascus on March 30, 2010
In June, they emailed my wife to send more documents but she didn't check her email so we didnt know until they called her... Basically, we sent the document back in Sept 7th, 2010... Our medical exam expires in Sept 25 so they asked us to re do it.
She did the new Medical exam on Oct 1
They emailed me on Nov 21 saying they just received the medical exam

What do you think!

I think as your file is now complete and passed the 9 months mentioned on CIC website you should receive a reply from them before new year. It is my personal view which might not be right but I am optimistic that you will get yours soon

Welcome to the thread. Your time line is like mine except that I sent my application on 24th February 2010.I 'm still in the queue for officer ..... and clearly this queue is endless .
I think because you sent the requested documents with a huge gap since they request them, it causes such a delay. As you know people from Iraq are the first priority in Damascus and their application doesn't go through any queue.So your application won't be in a queue for a long time,
Don't worry I'm sure you will be called in the next 2 weeks.Wish you best of luck.

Hello dear friends,
my lawyer must be joking or else may be he is right and i dont want to believe it
today i spoke to my lawyer and he said it will not be done by january early feb 2011 is that a joke and since that time my blood pressure has dropped and i feel sick
i asked if we can apply for visitor visa it will cost around 2000 dollars and no guarantee zero chance to get a visa

yes i did cry but whatever i will continue to wait and hopefully my lawyer is wrong
