I have a slightly unrelated question. My grandmother is applying for a single entry visa to visit my parents in Canada. She sent all her files to the Canadian embassy in Tehran via DHL but her application was returned back to her a couple of days before they closed the embassy. Now she needs to apply again to Ankara. Did you mention that DHL no longer handles passports? Does it mean that she won't be able to send her application to Ankara till further notice?

no no she can send her files to ankara, and yes it was returned because of the closure,
she can send her files to ankara, the only people who are affected are the SPONSORSHIP,
your grandmother for example, she has nothing to worry about, just re submit the files

the closure of the embassy in tehran isnt the news we wanted, at the moment it means more money , more discomfort for the people who just got ppr........ i hope they change it,
i dont want my wife traveling to turkey just for a visa.

last night in the 20:30 Iranian national news , spokesman of the foreign ministry talked about the closure of Canadian visa section in Tehran,
He mentioned that they are looking into the issue with canadian embassy and they will try to help facilitate the procedure for people . well , we are used to their promises and whatnot , but let's hope they do s/th this time .

Hi,

My wife and I decided to ignore the law that a resident should reside in Canada while the spouse sponsorship case in under process. Although we applied 13 months ago, my wife got landed 20 months ago (sept 2010) and during the last 20 months I've only seen her 3 times. So our patience is over!
I was wondering if anyone of u knows what would be the consequence if the officer understand that she is living with me in Iran. :

Btw, since there is no residency questionnaire form anymore how can they really find out that she is not living in Canada?
