Damaged passport returned (send for PPR) ...Do they extend the deadline....

Hello,

I got my passport back without PR visa ,but a letter stating that my passport is damaged so i should get new passport and then send again.
Thing is my passport is expiring in March'15 ,so I m planning to go for reissue rather than replacement which will take 4-6 weeks.

So i would like to know when i request CIC to extend deadline of passport submission do they entertain such requests or not...

Any suggestions will be gr8....

Sry to hear about that but probably you can help me - what is specifically damaged in your psprt? mine psprt also had a small damage done by US brder security - they wantd to tear off the old I94 bt with tht they snappd a little piece o papr frm psprt - hwever tht page didnt hav any stamped visa - shud tht be an issue? what was specifically damaged in ur psprt?

Lamination was slightly off from bio data page...but i think torn page will be considered a damaged passport ...but not sure so u may get away with that...

My lawyer got same communication from IRCC, that my passport is damage. Can you please tell me how will I get my passport back do I have to call them or will they send me my passport back in the return shipping envelope I send them. I would really appreciate your response
