Hi All,

Newbie here. I just started putting the application package together and noticed that some documents for my wife are mentioned (requested?) in both the Africa [IMM 3912] and sponsor Document Checklist [IMM 5491]. Do I have to include 2 copies of those or will just 1 copy be enough?

Also my wife is not a computer savvy and CIC mainly communicates by email. I want the correspondence between her and CIC to go through me. Do I need to file the Use of a Representative [IMM 5476] or can I just put my email on her form where it ask for it. (NB: She wont need me if there is an interview. Just want to make sure we don't miss anything)

Thanks

Not sure about the double copies(I'm pretty sure you'd need just one and it's just an overlap), but you can most definitely put whatever email you like on the application.

I applied in May 2015, I added the documents twice just in case especially for those documents that needed just photocopies.
My wife had given me access to her e-mail account long ago so I'm able to view any correspondence from CIC.
You can forget about the Use of Rep. form and use any e-mail account you have access to.

Hi
I received my SA yesterday for my common law application
We are both senegalese

Hi guys,
So I got everything ready except the proof of communication. My wife and I have been using Facebook, Skype and whatsup to communicate. I try to pull all the conversation logs and I have about 600 pages for facebook over 3 years, 250 pages for Whatsup over 6 months and 50 pages for Skype over 1 yr. Is that too much? Did you guys have something similar?Do they even read it? I really don't want to have to print all these pages >:(. Doyou guys have any tip?

Thanks

Hello SeulDansMonBocal,

I think you can add about 50 pages each for FB and Whats app and about 25 pages for Skype. It is ideal to show how the chat progressed over the years; beginning with the old chats then gradually moving to the current time.Mine was not that much because I didn't have such a long period. Then you can add an extra sheet just to explain that you included just a few pages for simplicity. They don't actually read all of it, but they can just peruse to see when it began and ended. You should also add call logs if any (Mine I highlighted my wife's phone number and mentioned it on the extra sheet).

Good luck !

Hi guys,
I sent my packages on the 17th and it was "received" on the 18th. When CIC website says that they have 54 days to process, is that from the day it was received at the CPC or is it from the day the immigration officer picks it from the pile of applications?

Turbo2000 let's keep fingers crossed that we will get passport request soon. Here is my time line. January 02 2015 Application Received, April 13 2015 AOR1, there is no AOR2 until October 9 2015 I found out that my application was in process April 17 2015. Turbo just to give you a little bit of light in my application. This is the 2nd time I am applying for Permanente Residence outside of Canada. The first time was through Nairobi VO between 2012 and 2014 then it was rejected because my husband had his divorce after our marriage and he did not know that would jeopardize our application. We married last year for the second time and sent the application on December 30th 2014. Now we have a baby boy and in July this year my husband added him to my application. My husband only became a Canadian Citizen 1 week ago. So let's stay in touch if you hear anything from your side and I will do on my side too.

Hello everyone,

Long time lurker, first time poster here. I have filed the paperwork to sponsor my wife this past May as well. My VO is also Dakar, Senegal. I'm also in the same boat as most of you guys. Still anxiously waiting for the process to be finalized.

The following is my timeline:

App. Filed.......: May 19, 2015
App. received by Mississauga.: May 27, 2015
AOR Received.: July 27, 2015
IELTS Request: n/a
File Transfer...: July 30, 2015
Med's Done....: April 2015

Currently, my ecas status says they started processing my application July 30, 2015.
