Hello Forumers we are having an unusual situation. DHL is saying that they cannot find the return envelope containing my wife's documents in the mailbox where it is usually place. Its been a week now since we received the notification from Senegal to send DHL for pick up.
Any advice on what can be done ?

My worry is that the visa has limited time on it as my wife's medical will expire next month.

Well, that's annoying. These people can't even do their job correctly :-[. I would contact Dakar's VO and let them know, just in case. If they can't find it after 2 weeks, try contacting your MP and ask them to get involved. In the meantime, try putting some pressure on DHL by calling them everyday. Good luck

Hello Maligator001 thanks for your concern.

We wrote Dakar, and they replied that DHL picked up the mail on the 12th of August one day after we asked them to pick up the mail!!. Can you beat that? Meanwhile the respond we were getting from DHL is that they could not find the package where it was supposed to be dropped. After insisting for 10 days we finally got the package.

Now I have just one more concern. The selection certificate was not returned. Is this a common practice or should we contact Dakar. Maligator001 I address this question to you since you and yours went through the same process.

I'm glad you've finally received the package. You basically get two copies of the CSQ, one for the requerant and the other one for immigration (Which Dakar should have sent back). They lost the original i provided to them but i was lucky enough to have made a scan before i send it. Your wife should be able to enter Canada but they will tell her to provide the copy of the CSQ (the one that said immigration at the bottom) within 30 days or so. Do you have a copy? If not You'll have to contact Dakar. I think that the Ministere de L'Immigration can also replace it but i'm not sure how long it takes. Again, good luck.

My wife provided the scanned copy and that was good enough (she didn't even have to explain anything). You were right about the original, we also sent the original but they lost it. You guys should be ok with the copy and frankly, i don't even think she has to explain it, either way she'll be good.

Those who are still waiting on pp request please don't send the original copy of CSQ-immigration. send a scan copy instead. I don't think they return that to you and your significant other will need this document at the airport in Montreal when s/he is going through immigration.

I thought after MIDI notifies Dakar when CSQ is approved, we don't have to send CSQ to Dakar! I was surprised to see that requested with pp. I thought it was just for verification purpose so I sent the original knowing it will be return since it is needed when entering the country. I was wrong. we did not get it back ! This adds another stressful layer to the entire process.
