Thanks. I have to admit, that was pretty fast. I can see that your file has been transferred a month after mine, hopefully you hear from Dakar very soon.

I am starting to feel hopeless. We applied in September and have heard no news. Is there any way to check if there is a problem? My husband and I were married and living in Korea when we applied. Could this be why it's taking longer?

It depends on if your file is a routine case. That is no red flags. Are you and your husband still in Korea? Has the principal applicant lived in many countries? Did you guys get married in Korea? Is the sponsor living in or outside Canada? Did you send enough proof to support your relationship? These are just a few questions.

I don't think they doubt your relationship. They would have asked for more proof if they did. I think your file is stock at BGC. Also, if you guys got married in Korea and are From a different country, they may take more time verifying it as well.

Just be patient. No news is usually good news. I will suggest you order GSCM notes to see what is going on with your file.

Also, share your timeline. You should also joint the September 2015 Thread. Maybe others can throw more light.

Hello my fellow friends in the virtual queue, I am a newbie. In my frustration to find answer I found this forum.
My sponsorship application was received 22 October 2015 and processing started January 13, 2016 in DAKAR.

I see on this forum that October and November applicants have received their visas and I am beginning to get really worried!

Deffy2016 please what is BGC?

It is just to exercise patience Massamussa. I wait is difficult but Your turn will come soon. Everyone's case is different. BGC means Background check. It takes longer for some people depending on how many countries you have lived in and many other factors.

I suggest you order your GCMS notes to know what is actually going on. However, I think you will hear from them soon. You are already 8 months into the process. It shouldn't take much longer if your case is a routine case.

We were married in Korea, just on paper. No ceremony as our families are both around the world. I am the sponsor and I am currently with him. My contract in Korea ran out so we are in Thailand. I don't really know how to order those notes, but I read they can only be ordered from within Canada.

We sent photos from a small wedding dinner from when my mother visited (close friends-very small) and hundreds of pages of chat logs as well as some other photos.

I'm hoping it's just in a different queue.

My application was sent in on Sept 17th and started processing Nov 30.

Thanks for your reassurances.

I don't think it's time to be worried yet, it's been 8 months and Dakar usually gets things done a little longer than that on average. But i'm pretty sure it's going to be done very soon. Good luck.

Thanks Deffy2016 for the quick respond and your in advice on ordering GCMS note. I just think that the note will be off no use at this point. It will instead ramp up my stress levels.
I thought once the files are transferred to Dakar, then is only the PR processing that is left. Am I correct?
It also seem as though the PPR are sent out only on Wednesday after ecas has been updated on Tuesday!

Thanks again for your time Deffy2016.

Thanks copperprop! It's just that I had received a reply from Dakar that our files are processed in the order they were originally received. So seeing that other who applied later than I did, triggered worries and I am missing my wife BIG time.

Thanks again for the reassurance! I need it!
