Hey,
Please see below and kindly answer my question at the end:
  • Came to Canada: January 5, 2022, for Master’s studies
  • Graduated: May 2023
  • Work permit: Granted July 2023
  • PNP nomination (International Graduate Stream Non-Express Entry): January 2024
  • First PR application: December 2023 → returned in May 2024 due to missing documents
  • Resubmitted PR application: May 6, 2024
  • Acknowledgment of Receipt (AOR): September 27, 2024
  • Biometrics & medicals requested: September 29, 2024
  • Medical passed: November 17, 2024 (valid until November 16, 2025)
  • Eligibility: Passed (confirmed by IRCC agent May 14, 2025)
  • Background check: In progress; 2/3 parts completed (as per IRCC)
  • Resume request: September 2025 (to support final background/security verification)

My question: Is it normal at this stage to receive request for my CV? Does it mean that my background check is done? Does it mean I will receive Portal 1 soon?

Regards,

Regards,
Yes, it is quite normal at this stage for IRCC to request your CV or résumé, especially under the non-Express Entry Provincial Nominee Program stream. This request is usually linked to the final stage of background and security screening, where officers want to cross-verify your education, employment, and travel history against the details you provided in your application. It does not necessarily mean your background check is fully completed yet—it means they are finalizing it and want to ensure there are no gaps or inconsistencies. Many applicants receive this request shortly before their file is approved, so it’s generally a positive sign that your application has moved into the final review stage. While it doesn’t guarantee immediate issuance of Portal 1, it does suggest you are close to the end of the process, and once the security screening is cleared, you can expect the portal invitation soon after.
