Hello folks,
With C6 coming into effect Oct 11, my wife will be eligible to apply for citizenship with well over enough days of physical presence (current at ~1300 days). I had one concern and it is that we are planning a fairly long vacation (3 weeks or more) abroad in February. Looking at past timelines it is somewhat possible (if a tad aggressive) that she could get her invite to the interview/test around that time. In the past, this would be a bit of a risk because the advance notice for the test is not long (I had 2 weeks advance notice) and if you are away when the mail comes, you could miss the interview without knowing and that would cause all sorts of issues. Some people play it safe and not travel much between the time of application and oath. The trip is important for us so we will definitely go. I'm thinking that maybe she should apply after we come back in Feb since we don't plan on going on major trips after that. Is this too conservative? It's been awhile since I paid attention to the timelines and process these days. Any thoughts are appreciated.
Thanks
