Criminality vs Security?

Hello Everyone,

So i called CIC today and they said my criminality has passed and Security has not stated yet.

I was wondering who does what in regards to Criminality and Security?
How long does it take to pass security? Because criminality took 3 months to get cleared.

Criminality is verifying that you don't have a criminal record. Security is looking into your history to make sure you don't have any links to extremist, terrorist or hate groups. I don't know how long it takes sorry, I'm guessing its different for everyone

Ok. Maybe you'll get in early to mid January? I had a ghost update last Friday but I don't know what the current status is. Hopefully we get PPR soon

Yeah, i had it until October 19th 2018
Eligibility = Recommended Pass
Medical = Passed
Security Not Started
Criminality = In Progress

Eligibility is recommended pass, so that's the biggest thing to worry about done So unless you have a criminal record or links to a hate group, you should be fine

hahah yeah, it's just annoying because background was started on September 19th. Like some people are getting their PR done in 2 months and while some of us are just sitting here for 6 months. Like i had a very simple case. I have been in Canada since i was 17, didn't even had to provide any police certificate. Haven't traveled outside, no spouse or kids. Still taking so long.
Anyways nothing much we can do, apart from waiting lol
