Criminality verification

Hello,

We applied on September 17th 2019.
PCC was requested January 2020.
On October 2020 we recieved an email requesting my husband's PCC. Apparently we had sent a wrong one. We resubmitted as soon as possible.
Now we're in out 18 month and according to our MP criminality verification is the only outstanding thing holding back our application.
We sent a webform and their response:

"our partners who assist us in the background checks are equally affected though we recently confirmed that the verification is in process with their office."

Does anyone know how long criminality verification takes ? Could it have been the 8 month delay for them to tell is the one we submitted was the incorrect one? Which agencies work on criminality verification?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

The 8 month delay was likely largely due to COVID. Although the fact the wrong PCC was submitted would have also created delays for your application.

Which agencies are involved depends on what countries your husband has lived in. How long criminal verification takes varies from country to country (some countries are more cooperative than others so it is faster - slower for others). Will also depend on how many places he has lived.
