Credit score as immigrant

Hello,

I am currently applying for an owp and pr in the family sponsor class.
I am wondering how the credit score system works in my case. How would i start building one, even getting one in the first place and is it going to be dependent on my canadian husbands score in the beginning?
As soon as I have a score will I be able to get a credit card here? What are the experiences? I know they are a lot harder to get here than in Europe...

Easiest way to start building up a credit score will be to get a prepaid / secure credit card with a low spending limit - $500 to $1000.
Walk into any of the major banks and prepay $500 towards a secure card. Use the card frequently and pay off monthly in full. That should be all.
