I had sent my diplomas to IQAS, Edmonton and received assessment in 9.5 weeks. It cost me around 160 CAD with courier costs.

However, this was only assessment of my education. What about work experience assessment? Will this become mandatory like in Australia?

no idea mate , i think its necessary only for document evaluation . Actually credential evaluation depends on regulatory or non regulatory profession . which noc are you planning to apply?

I was thinking about NOC 1122, but since we were refused twice because of job duties and lack of references, we can't lose any more time on that noc. Besides, it will be full on the first day of July, so we are planing to go to Canada on open work permit through IEC program and try to get a job offer. As our country has international agreement with Canada on youth mobility exchange, we can work in Canada for 1 year without a job offer. It is a working holiday visa.

In the meantime, we have gained 1 year of experience in NOC 2263 and hoping that maybe it will come on new NOC list. It is not regulated, and NOC 1122 is not regulated also (except Alberta), but we wanted to have our credentials ready just in case.

well for pharmacist we have PEBC as regulatory body similarly nursing must be having some regulatory agency as RPNC . i think they want our credential to be assessed by our regulatory body rather then some agency as WES. plz read thoroughly before applying .

These documents should be send to PEBC individually , any ways have you paid by credit card or by bank draft . kindly suggest , facing problem from bank in india . As most of them can give only hand written bank draft .

Fsw4,
sorry mate absolutely zero knowledge about nursing . you could find some useful post though in this form . all the best.

No one knows what CIC will require in terms of credential assessment. Will they create a centralized credential assessment agency and every prospective immigrant will send their papers there? Will they have any special instructions or requirements? No one knows until CIC gives further details later this year. So, you should think twice when you apply for credential assessment now. CIC may ask you to do it again with the new rules/requirements whatever they might be. And it may just be a waste of money and time for you to do credential assessment now. So, it's wise to wait and hear from CIC for further details rather than rush and do it now.

Torontonio i differ to agree.even cohen suggest to get credential assessed.clearly describe guidelines and differentiate between regulatory and non regulatory occupation. Centralized bodies for regulatory profession are different as for pharmacist ~pebc. Thxs for your valuable caution with suggestion

Minister Kenney proposes to assess foreign education credentials before skilled workers arrive

Hopefully, the potential applicants from July 2012 are applicable for assessment. What about those people already applied?

What dos it mean?
Kenney is also proposing changes to the rules that would allow new regulations to apply retroactively to people whose applications have already been submitted.

deba,
Wait for new rules to be announced.it better to get credential done as you would need the same after pr for job search

f you wish to apply online please read the instructions carefully on the following page: http://www.pebc.ca/index.php/ci_id/2464/la_id/1.htm . You can make the payment online and you will have to submit the printed application form.

We expect your transcript and licensing statement to be arriving at different times so we will match everything to your application form once we receive it.

Once your document evaluation application has been received and processed we will send you an acknowledgement email that will include information regarding any outstanding documents and your PEBC ID number. Please be sure to check your inbox and junk mail for receipt of this email.

It can take up to 3 weeks for the document acknowledgement email to be sent once we have received your application. If you are concerned with the delivery status of your application you can contact your courier service for this information, or the University for the transcripts.

Once we have received all of your documents, correctly submitted, it will take approximately 8 weeks for your document evaluation to be completed. As soon as your document evaluation has been completed a results letter will be put in the mail for you. Please be sure to add mailing time to the 8 weeks if you are trying to calculate when you will receive the document evaluation results letter.
