Hello,

My husband and I have been worrying why CPC Mississauga has not filed our PR application (Family Class: Spouse- outside Canada) on the e-Cas system yet as most people will be filed within two weeks after CPC-M receives the PR application. Before we sent our PR application and proofs with FedEx, they told us they could send to PO Box in Canada, and we have just checked the FedEx tracking#, the status says our PR application package has been still sitting for 2 weeks in the mailroom now. We are unsure if we have sent the PR application with a lot of proofs like 3.5 kgs in the FedEx box that they might reject or we have sent it to the wrong address?

We have sent the PR application and proofs inside the FedEx box from Sydney, Australia to the below address;

Case Processing Centre
CPC Mississauga
PO Box 3000, Station A
Mississauga, ON L5A4N6
Canada

Could you please advise how often CPC-M checks/receives the PR package at PO Box address? How long does it take for CPC-M will file PR application to e-cas system after they pick up our mail from PO Box?

I really appreciate your help

Hi there!

We sent our application to the P.O. Box from the UK (normal registered mail). According to the postal tracking system they recieved it 4 days after we sent it but it took about month to show up on e-cas. Judging from people's experiences around the same time, it was pretty normal. That timing increased shortly after we heard, but I'm not too sure how long it's taking lately. Hope you hear soon!!

Haha! Thanks!! We've not written anything lately - I think we were expecting to have a much longer wait in between everything. We will be going to Canada for Mr. to land in a few weeks, so will definitely post about that!

good luck with the whole process!!
:)

Couriers will not send to a po box. They need the courier address.Locate your tracking number call fed ex.See if they can locate it and give them the courier address for the package.
Only the post will deliver to a PO box.
Hope this helps and you can locate it.

Yes, that's what my understanding is, but when we called them, or even before we sent it to CPC-M, they guaranteed us that FedEx in Australia could accept PO Box, and they could send it out, and that's why we gave the PO Box address to them. They told us the receivers of PO Box would pick up the parcels in the mailroom by themselves only, and there were only some countries that FedEx did not accept PO Box. I asked some people who already sent the parcels with FedEx from a couple of countries where accepted PO Box, they did not seem to have any problem. Also, we did checked our tracking status, the result says " Delivered in the mailroom", so please correct me if there is nothing to worry about the PO Box address? We hope not.

Thanks

When I went in to FedEx this week to send my daughter's Citizenship Certificate application I only had a PO for the office in Sydney NS. I asked them and they looked up in their book of rules and told me that Canada was allowed to accept delivers to PO boxes. This is different than in the United States where FedEx cannot deliver to a PO.

Apparently it has something to do with Post Office rules (not sure about that), but they did say I could send to a PO box.

Don't know if that helps or not. My app sat at the border in customs for 24 hours so maybe that is what has happened to you - whose mail room does it say it has made it to? Also, did you send overnight or a slower service?

Thanks, heatherusa. We sent it to deliver to PO Box of CPC-M address from Sydney, Australia. We sent it with the FedEx Int' Priority service during working day time, and it has been delivered with the person received at PO Box (not sure if the post officer working at the post office there?). The FedEx officer also checked the rules of delivery between Australia and Canada before sending to Canada as well, and on the tracking # online, it shows that the person with her name received the parcel (but not picked up the parcel). That's why we are still worrying why it has been still sitting in the mail room. Any idea?

Thanks

Ahhh, I see what you are saying now. It has been delivered to the PO Box but they havent come to collect it from the PO Box. WOW, that sucks. It could be that they are so backed up that they only pick that mail up every so often, or it could be a mistake on the part of FexEx. :'( Im so sorry for you. I suspect that the only difference between your application and mine is that you can see yours hasnt been picked up and mine is probably in another pile somewhere and I have no idea because they stopped tracking it when it was handed to the person at the door.

The wait continues..... (insert sad music here!)

Yes,heatherusa. That's the only thing. We'll try to wait for another week or so, as we'd guess most people have their PR apps filed in 3 weeks at the earliest after CPC-M picked up. If we do not see anything changed, maybe we may have to contact both FedEx and CIC.

We are not sure if we contact CIC may make the delay of our process? On CIC website, it says not to contact them unless your app has been filed in your respective visa office (not CPC-M), any idea? Please correct me if I am wrong.

Thanks,

I don't think you can check from Fedex tracking when CPC-M officer will come to pick up the parcel in the mail room. Fedex will only update the status until it's delivered to the address you put on AWB.

I found this in Fedex Canada website,
- Shipments addressed to post office boxes in Canada and certain other countries are accepted by FedEx only if a recipient phone number is indicated on the Air Waybill.

So from my opinion, I think you should be fine. You can try calling CIC call centre and see if they can give you any suggestion about what to do in your case but they won't be able to check the status of the parcel whether it has been picked up or not.
