Hi guys,

I sent my spousal application (outland) to CPC-M on Feb.28th and confirmed via CanadaPost tracking that it was received on Feb.29th. At the time of submitting my spousal application, I wrote a letter explaining that I will be sending my spouse's Police Certificate as well as my Option C as soon as I receive them. I sent the follow-up mail with supporting documents a couple of weeks later however, CPC-M returned the mail to me; they basically provided a general letter explaining my file has not been processed and if they require the information, they will notify me. The strange thing is that they returned everything but my spouse's Police Certificate as well as the certified copy of the translation. I'm really worried and I'm not sure where they would be keeping my spouse's documents...

Sorry about the possible confusion...when I wrote "returned everything", basically they returned the second mail I sent containing the supporting documents (Option C and PCC).

yes they did the same thing with our application. you cant send anything until approval and file transfer to visa office , regardless of importance of documents. dont worry we got approval without option c, but sent a long letter of explanation. you should also send your PCC to visa office after sponsorship approval.
good luck and relax :)

I'm not too worried about Option C, because I wrote a letter explaining the situation as well as providing 3 years worth of tax documents. With regards to the Police Certificate, I have no idea what happened to the original as well as the translated copy as I sent that with the mail :( I just hope this doesn't cause further delay.

My understanding is that CPC-M does not deal with the applicant (person being sponsored) but with the sponsor. Therefore, the applicant's police certificate is usually evaluated by the visa office along with his/her medical exam and all other documents supporting the relationship. Therefore, make ready to re-send the police certificate (re-issue another original if lost) to the visa office once the file is transferred.

Option C is for the sponsor evaluation. Therefore, the CPC-M might need it if there is no other evidences on file for the sponsor's financial status.

Just be prepared to send things once you get the file number from the visa office.
