Hello,

I am writing my letter regarding my Inland PR application for the Immigration Officer. I am just wondering if anybody of you could give me a little bit of an advice what to put in the letter and what not ? Meanwhile my letter is already about 3 pages long ::) I wrote where and how we met online, about our fist meeting in person (which was horrible since I was refused entry - due to my stupidity coming totally uninformed and unprepared to Canada). I wrote about our wedding, our time in Canada since I`m here, our hobbies, activities, and so on, all that is in the letter already. Now I am not sure if I should inform the Officer, that I can`t have children ? (due to a former medical condition) I am now totally perfect healthy but I`m not sure if it would be interesting for the Officer to know why we don`t have children ?

thank you in advance for your help :)

I don't think that kind of medical issue is anybody's business besides you and your wife. I wouldn't put it in the letter.
It is advised not only to write such letters yourself but also have them written by family members and friends.

Good luck!

Dear I wrote a long ass letter too but just keep in mind the objective your are attempting to achieve. My letter was on how our love developed and turned into a relationship. It really made me think a lot on how two people who just met do and say things that evolve the relationship into a meaningful union that leads to marriage.

Second thing...I would most definitely not advise you to mention that you can't bear children, especially if its your spouses first marriage and has no kids himself.

Don't mention it, it has no bearing on anything.

thank you for your anwers :)

Yes, I will not mention it. I deleted my previous answer cause even here on this topc I write too much lol. I will try to keep the letter simple but not too casual, cause even when its kind of a personal letter it should stay formal, I guess. @eminem_n_rihannah99 yes, it also makes me think a lot, how crazy life sometimes can be, on how we met and said things that lead to our marriage, never ever I would have thought that I would meet my love so far away in Canada, but every second I can be with him, is worth it, and one day I hopefully can put in my profile also LANDED *fingers cross* ;)

hello again,

sorry I have to follow up with a question, looking for a little advice. Is it in your opinion advisable to write every detail in the letter why I was refused entry ? Meanwhile only that point is about 2 pages long *sigh*, since I explained detailed my situation in the secondary at CBSA. I am just looking for a little guidance, since i have absolutely no idea if my letter is good enough. What are `do and don`ts` in such a letter ? thank you very much in advance, any help is appreciated :)

Use the KISS principle - Keep It Simple, Silly (I changed the last word to be nice). How you've explained it above is sufficient! "I didn't know the immigration rules, I was unprepared and was thus refused entry." Maybe add a short 1 liner "Since then, I have educated myself, followed the rules and not had any further issues entering Canada."

thank you bigredmoose for your answer, yes, I will edit the letter again, since its really way too much I wrote, I will take your advice and use the KISS principle :) the visa officers have anyways a lot to do and are for sure not amused when they have to read a terrible long letter. thank`s again and btw congrats on your landing tomorrow ;)

A cover letter should summarize what is in the package. Details should be found elsewhere in the application, so just refer in general terms as BRM suggested. Cut ruthlessly until it's a page or at most two.
