i have almost finished my 2 year diploma as a full time student but my last semester has less course load(30% of total) 60% or more is considered full time. International student councilor told me i will get 3 year coz last term or semester doesnt matter. I want opinions of experienced members to reflect upon my case. i will be very thankful.

was it necessary for you to ask experienced members only to reply? I find this request disrespectful against all the members of this online community...dont't you know that when you have multiple views you are able to take a good decision. I know your answer but Sorry when someone asked an advise this way I prefer to piss him off first. If you are looking for experienced answers go consult a lawyer. cheers.

I don't see it as a problem. In order to apply for PGWP, you need to include a written confirmation from your school that you finished your program. As I remember, the letter itself doesn't need to explain your course load, it just need to verify that you finished your program, so they couldn't know your last semester has a lesser course load. Also, make sure you apply for your PGWP within 90 days of completing your courses + receiving your confirmation of degree completion.

they can tell the course load from transcript.

"Full‑time versus part‑time studies in the last session of study

If a student meets all the eligibility requirements, with the exception of full‑time status, but is in their last session, they will still be considered to be eligible for this program. For example, at an institution, a student may be required to be enrolled in at least four classes to be considered to have full‑time status. However, a student in the last session of a program of study needs to take only two additional classes in order to receive a Canadian educational credential from that institution. That student will still be eligible to apply for a work permit under this program."

I don't think the OP meant it that way. It's more plausible he/she was seeking input from members who have either experienced the situation or know someone who has. Hope you have a change of heart and share your knowledge so that we can all learn. :D

LOL and agreed.

Btw. what does "OP" stands for? Maybe knowing this will allow myself to make that leap from a novice to an experienced member!
