Dear all,

I'm grade 10 student from UAE (I'm Pole) and I wonder about what will increase my chances to get to some good Canadian University. I'm ready to immigrate to Canada in grade 11 or 12 if it will increase the chance.
There is one more reason why I want to immigrate there in grade 11. As I notice, a cost of one year e.g. in UBC is around 20,000-25,000$ and for citizen is only 4,000-5,000$. And here is a problem. Unfortunately my parent's salary is not high enough to pay for it. So, I though to move to Canada in grade 11 to get citizenship on 2 year of university. I know that there are scholarships, but I cannot be sure I will get any.
I'm already 18 (not because I was failing the years) and I want to know if there is any chance for me to go alone to Canada for studying there last 2 years in high school. Is there any visa for someone like me? Can I do something else to increase the chances?

Regards,
Alex

You could apply for a student visa to study in a Canadian high school. You can state your reasons for wanting to complete high school in Canada and they might just grant it although it's unusual to get a student visa for high school. You will have to prove that you or your parents can pay for the school and your living expenses and that you will return to your homeland at some point when your visa expires. You will not receive citizenship on your 2nd year of university. First you have to qualify to immigrate to Canada and then you have to apply for your permanent recidency and only after 2 or 3 years in Canada as a permanent resident can you apply for citizenship.

As a young student with no work experience, the only 2 immigration classes you could apply for in the near future would be Canadian experience class or in some provinces a provincial nominee program as a graduate and that would only be after you graduate and in the case of CEC, work for a year and in the case of provincial nominee program depends on the province but would be at least having graduated and having a job offer.
