Hello, I am helping my friend apply for visa. He currently resides in Qatar on assignment and has been for nearly a year, and will for the next 6 months (each assignment is 6 months long, making this his 3rd assignment in Qatar). However, his company is located in Japan, so all of his documents: his employer's letters, employment contracts, etc. state that they are located in Japan.
I believe he should put Qatar as his country of residence, while putting his employer as located in Japan. However, he insists that because his employer is in Japan, and his visa status in Japan is also a "resident", he should state that his country of residence is Japan.
