Hi! please if someone who knows whats what could help I would be eternally grateful. I'm a 28 yr old UK citizen working in Alberta on the IEC working holiday programme. I got here in September and started working my current job within a week of arriving. I met my girlfriend before I came but we have lived together since September.
I want to apply to the IEC for a second year but have had to renew my passport and I'm concerned it will arrive too late to apply.
If this occurs what would my options be? My girlfriend got assaulted last year and has a court case coming up. She has also become ill and needs me around. She would lose the house and her marbles if I had to leave, so I have a dilemma. My employer wishes to keep me on but I am a shipper/flt driver/factory worker which would not count as skilled work.
Would I be wise to hire a lawyer? Is the provincial nominee programme a go'er? I'm confused?
