There had been mixup of dates which made CIC refer me to a judge hearing. I have been waiting for 15 months for this. No news. Wrote them two letters every time i had to leave the country. No reply. The website to track your file keeps giving error messages. Currently abroad with husband for work and CIC does not take international calls. Did it happen that someone's file got lost?

I'm so sorry, Seemp. Have you tried ordering ATIP? Maybe you'll be able to see what's going on with your application through it.

What a good idea. I didnt even know it was possible. You mean the Access Information & Privacy right? I will do so at once. Lately i have been considering to write to the MPP on immigration in Toronto and ask him for assistance. Its very stressful.

Order ATIP report. Send e mail to case specific query and contact MPP

all three things you can do same time... hopefully some info. you can get

on your file.. keep calling to CIC as well this is the only way to find out or at least

reminder that your waiting.

Thank you Janoo, appreciate it. I did a search and initially emailed the wrong MPP (of Ontario immigration) They referred me to the right one but also to the Minister of Immigration, Chris Alexander. Not that I am planning on sending the latter a letter right of the bat because I am wondering if this can also draw too much attention to yourself in a bad way. Even the ATIP made me feel a little iffy. Anyone ever done it, send the Minister of Immigration a request? So far I send it to the right MPP. Thanks everyone. I am always getting great advise and support from you.

Three weeks ago I wrote my MPP , no response. Last week I send a reminder, nothing. Are immigration issues something they do not respond to maybe. I am so very frustrated. We're abroad for my husbands work and calling is not an option. Anyone have any experience with this? Thanks.

I'm not sure if this would help with the CIC hotline, but I'm in the US at the moment and I'm making calls to Canada using Google Voice (I haven't called any Canadian hotlines, though, so I don't know if it would work for them).

Update on this. Applied for ATIP 4 weeks ago: no response (yet). Wrote to the MPP twice: not even a courtesy or automated reply. Are government officials at this point not getting involved in CIC cases maybe? Anyone have similar experiences?

MPP is the wrong person to contact - they only have jurisdiction over provincial matters. You should have reached out to your local MP (Member of Parliament) who represents you at the Federal level.

Hi. Atip report you expect after 30 business day, you may get at any time. wait for

atip report than you may take further action . keep calling CIC to up date your

status as well involve MP.. There is no harm to write a letter to Minister politely and

her secretary will find out for you and give you a reply within 30 days.

Just so you are aware the ATIP system is currently not working, if you apply for it an email is sent stating they have issues printing the Citizenship file the issue will be resolved bu July 31th, so all ATIP requests are on hold till July 31th.
