Oh, I see now. Ok, I prefer loosing the money for the ticket than having to go though the process again.

I think it's only a matter of time before the offices close in Mississauga. Halifax passport office has close now. Obviously, they have to take it into account with processing times and people falling out of status because of it.

March 20, 2020

The Government of Canada is providing an update on travel restrictions put in place to stem the spread of COVID-19.

Exemptions to the air travel restrictions will apply to foreign nationals who have already committed to working, studying or making Canada their home, and travel by these individuals will be considered essential travel for land border restrictions.

The exemptions include

seasonal agricultural workers, fish/seafood workers, caregivers and all other temporary foreign workers

international students who held a valid study permit, or had been approved for a study permit, when the travel restrictions took effect on March 18, 2020

permanent resident applicants who had been approved for permanent residence before the travel restrictions were announced on March 16, 2020, but who had not yet travelled to Canada.

I have a slightly different question. I did my soft landing on Apr 8th 2018 and stayed for a week before returning to India. So lets assume my initial stay was zero. Now, i close 3yrs on Apr 7th 2021 (next year) so this implies that my PR literally expires a second after 7th Apr 2021. While I have booked my one way ticket to Toronto on 20th Jan 2021, there thouse seems to be a issue with the flights. In the event that flights get cancelled to Canada due to Corona Virus, then what happens to my PR, does it get cancelled
