Hi everyone!

I am going to apply to PR via common law sponsorship. I want to get a copy of my cell phone invoice to show that I call my boyfriend and he calls me on a regular basis. Also a copy of our text messages and whatsapp conversations. Does anyone know how to do this?

I have contacted my cell phone company and they said they can only sent me my invoice information but not text messages. How did you guys do all this? Thanks a lot!!!

Also, is there other proofs that you guys think it is important to put on the application? (apart from emails, skype conversations, pictures, letters from family and friends...)

Do the letters from family and friends have to be notarized?

Thanks a lot!!

Yes, as none of those proofs you mentioned prove you have cohabited for 12 continuous months. In our common-law app, we didn't include any phone, chat or email records, since we lived with each other and saw each other everyday so proof of communication is not as important.

To prove cohabitation you need to show things like:
- joint lease/rental agreement, or declaration from landlord
- mail to each of you going to same address
- sharing of household expenses
- joint finances (bank acct, credit card, life insurance policy) showing shared address
- changing of CRA status for tax purposes from single to common-law
- changing status with work employment benefits (if applicable) to common-law

Do the letters from family and friends have to be notarized?

Some country-specific guides specifically say "statutory declarations" from at least 2 friends/family are required, meaning they need to be notarized by the person who writes it.
