The GCMS notes of my application says it has been approved more than a month ago, so imagine the next step would be PPR. Few months ago couple of my friends have submitted their passports for CoPR and haven't received them back yet. Reading through this forum, it appears most of the outland applicants are experiencing this. As an Indian living in the US on a H1b visa, not having the passport with me for months is really concerning. If there is any issue with H1b extension (especially given the new regulations last week) or family emergency, it would be really difficult without the passport on hand. Is there anything we can do if we land in this situation unfortunately?

I received an e-mail from IRCC which is asking to submit my passport. Some of the details are as below.
1. Passport(s) OR photocopy(ies) of passport(s), as explained in Step 2.
2. Two (2) photos of yourself and of each accompanying family member. See our specifications at www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/
3. One pre-paid return envelope.
If I send my passport how long will it take to get it back? Can someone please help if this is what you were also asked?

I have sent passports in October. Haven’t received them back. Worse is, my son’s passport had 6+ months validity when I sent them, and they saw it now and are saying they need renewed passport. We need all our passports back to get it renewed as he is a minor. But if I tried to do an urgent passport retrieval; no one is responding and not giving my passports back without stamp as well. I need it for my H4 biometrics here . They are not understanding the seriousness of keeping our passports.
