You need to be speaking to a lawyer if you haven’t already.

My brother received his COPR and visa and was preparing to travel, but he recently got a letter stating: "Your application has been re-opened and therefore your COPR is not valid for travel. Please follow the instructions in the Ready for Visa letter and return the COPR and visa counterfoil currently in your possession."
Based on this, I believe he should return the documents as instructed and wait for further updates from IRCC. We’re not sure what might have triggered the re-opening of his application, as everything seemed complete and in order. Does anyone have any insight into what could cause this kind of situation? And generally speaking, how long does IRCC take to process once a file has been re-opened? I understand timelines can vary from case to case, but if anyone has gone through a similar experience and received an update, it would be really helpful to hear about it.
Any suggestions or shared experiences would be greatly appreciated.
Yeah… planning to order the GCMS notes today and will also submit a request through the webform, since VFS isn't accepting the passport/COPR without an official request letter from IRCC.I would order GCMS notes.

Webform to request an official letter from IRCC, as VFS is not accepting the return of the counterfoil and COPR without it. According to VFS, they have no knowledge of the process and require official documentation in order to proceed.Webform for what?
PNP – Alberta, Category: PV2. All educational credentials and work documents were in order. I’ve applied for GCMS notes today to find out what might have triggered the cancellation. Will share an update once I receive them. This does happen but is happening more often. Sometimes COPRs are given out in error before application is actually finalized. There also could be areas of concern with his application. Currently proof of foreign job experience is one of the areas where there has been a lot of fraud especially in some sectors so IRCC does seem to be trying to do more thorough investigations. It is much harder to deal with after someone has landed as a PR so it is much easier to cancel a COPR while doing the investigation. What program did your brother apply to and what NOC(s) is his work experience? Were these cash jobs or was he able to provide significant proof of employment (bank records, tax records, well established businesses, etc.)?

Not too sure about the NOC. Nope, didn’t claim the family points either, and I’m actually living in a different province—or should I say, a whole different countryWhat NOC? Did your brother claim family points and if so have you been living in Alberta since then except short trips abroad?
