Hello everybody,

I'm totally excited! My COPR came in today!

I do have some questions though.

I understand that when I take the plane to Quebec Montreal, that I have to go to immigration at Trudeau airport, and go to a Border Services Agency Officer with my COPR and my CSQ. I understand that he's going to sign my COPR and that I have to sign it then too.
Then they are going to start my application for a permanent resident card also. Is this correct?

Then I wonder how long does it take to get my permanent resident card?
And when am I allowed to work? Am I allowed to work immidiately already or do I have to wait until I have my permanent resident card?

And what else can I expect at the border service agency at the airport? Does anybody know?

I'm so happy. I just called my boyfriend in Montreal.

I wish everybody who's still waiting good luck!!!

Well, you won't be a citizen just yet! But you will be a permanent resident. For the SIN, you can go to a Service Canada location.

Read this information: http://www.servicecanada.gc.ca/eng/sc/sin/index.shtml

The link to find a Service Canada location is at the bottom of the page.

Congratulations!

Thank you for your responses!

I want to stay a permanent resident. I don't want to become a Canadian Citizen. I just want to keep my Dutch citizenship.
