How long after raising ready to travel webform did you get email from them??

My husband has raised a webform too and we need to travel SOON just waiting on their reply! The delay is so so daunting! Wasn’t aware it would take sooooo long to get authorization to travel!

hoping You got a response within few days..will give me some hope too!

All said and done, please do not ever plan a trip with this sort of a scenario in mind. You need plenty of buffer time in case a cnnecting flight is missed or something. If your visa expires on 30th Aug, be sure to set foot on 28th itself.
I am planning for a direct flight so I guess the concern of connecting flight being delayed gets lost there.

But yes, the only worry is that will they deport me back to India or not. Since my COPR was issued on 20th March.
Ideally, they shouldn't but this risk is the only hurdle in my mind

Yes, your interpretation is accurate Rahul. Valid until implies as long as the local calendar shows that date i.e. 30 August, and that as you have correctly cited is until 11:59 PM local time at that airport.

Purely friendly reminder: Toronto (Eastern Time zone) and Vancouver (Pacific Time zone) as an example differs by three hours. I.e. Vancouver 11:59 PM will happen 3 hours after Toronto.

Best wishes,
Nav
Thank you. it has given me some more confidence now.

Hello people!

Hope all are keeping well in these testing times.

Guys I had query with regards to my expired COPR, its causing a major dilemma as its been 5 months since the below problem has been in a lingo.

Here are some facts:-

1) My COPR was issued by New Delhi before 18th March.
2) It has now expired in the month of August.
3) I did not fly due to an error in my COPR document - Gender mentioned incorrect.
4) My representative on a few occasions raised webforms to CIC and Delhi mentioning about the mistake which needs to be corrected. He initially received generic communication about the request forwarded to concerned office. After 1 month of the generic communication from CIC, he received an email notification about my application being under process.
5) In the last request raised to Delhi he received generic instructions/guidelines (which was before my copr expired) to correct the document by submitting the passport and COPR to VAC for correction.
6) I had also emailed New Delhi, for which I received just an auto reply from their end.

Now I hold an expired COPR and Visa with incorrect gender mentioned on the COPR. When I asked my representative to raise a ready to travel form, he suggests I wait for VACs to open for submission of passport and copr as per the generic guidelines.

My question-

What should I do;

1) Raise webform ready to travel?
2) Wait for VACs to open? Will they accept my expired visa and copr for correction based on generic guidelines email from New Delhi?
3) Wait for them send a new passport request since the application is under process now?

I really don't want to miss the opportunity as I have waited 3 years for this day...

I think all you can do is to wait, waiting is painful that's the reason I want to take my chances to leave rather than waiting.

Honestly, try to find a new job in India, there is no reason to wait for their response. Number of expired COPRs daily increasing so if they start full operation then you can imagine how long time you will again wait? Its better to keep yourself busy rather than wait for IRCC response, wait for job interview call...

Good luck!

I don't understand the logic behind 18th March thing. If you want to open it then open it for all, why such a boundary. That's all the concern is.

Yeah I am working on something in India itself which keeps me busy as of now.

That has been my biggest pet peeve about this as well. I don't get the March 18 fixation at all. They could have just stopped issuing new PPRs after March 18 till the Covid situation stabilized because that makes sense. If people dont have PPR requests or subsequent COPRs then they would have put their Canada plans on hold and not been in this uncertain situation right now.

Issuing COPRs even after March 18 and then not letting us in based on this date makes no sense at all. It has given us a false sense of hope and for those that have quit their jobs because of this, their lives have been thrown into disarray.

Thats just my two cents on this.

At that time in March, IRCC was put under pressure by people who had planned (book tickets, accommodation, sell car and house in home country) for settling in Canada prior to travel restrictions were implemented on 18th March 2020. In the best interest they should have increased the validity maybe up to a year of CoPRs that are issued after 18th March.

If I remember correctly March 18 was the date on which the order of travel restrictions came in to being and it provided as under

Prohibition

2 Any foreign national is prohibited from entering Canada if they arrive from a foreign country other than the United States.

This does not apply to

t) a person whose application for permanent residence was approved under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, and who received written notice of the approval before noon, Eastern Daylight Time on March 18, 2020, but who has not yet become a permanent resident under that Act;

I also think that now this classification of applicants on the basis of date on which the order of travel restriction was passed has become redundant. All people who have unexpired visas should be allowed to fly as the people with expired visas will ask for authorisation anyway.

Canada has extended the travel ban for the month of September.

Hi, I’m scheduled to arrive in Canada on September 4. Do I have to get a travel/medical insurance?
It is highly recommended, so in that sense yes.

Technically, travel or medical insurance is not mandatory. However, it is a small cost and protects one from huge risky expenses.

Personally, I would always get it!
