Can we order the SIM through online and door delivered to quarantine address ? How many days it takes to get delivered? Any proof is required ? Also, is it possible to order it online and delivered at quarantine place before we land ?

Ya you can order it online and get it delivered. U can either do it after u land or even before that. The option is yours. We landed and ordered coz our friend said there will be Fido,Chattr mobile outlets inside airport but it was all closed so we moved to airbnb and ordered it from amazon. No proof is required for SIM. If u are ordering before u land just inform the airbnb owner that they will receive a mail with your name. It took 3 days for delivery. You can give the shipping address as airbnb address and billing address to any Canada address like if you have friends or relatives so u will have a address proof for SIN under your name. Some bank may ask for address proof so u can use it too. Just a Suggestion.

I contacted Etihad support and this is what they replied

Hi, to fly inbound to Abu Dhabi, you either need a valid ICA or GDFRA approval from the government. Both approvals are accepted. We accept guest with GDRFA approval as long as you get the "OK TO BOARD" upon check in at the airport

Can anyone explain what is GDRPA approval and does this mean they accept transit passengers?

GDFRA is the approval required for people who only want to enter Dubai ... It requires you to have residency number for application... So they won't accept transit passenger atleast till 31st July.

One more input will be appreciated, is it advisable to move for 6 months at first to see the situation there or wait for extension? What are chances of getting extension? Someone in the thread wrote earlier that he was told to move and extension will not be given..

It seems that government is planning to allow Air canada under bilateral agreement soon and you may have direct flights to Vancouver shortly.

Whether AI will have flights to Vancouver will be decided after 25th July only. Currently only Toronto ... Other airlines will definitely have connections to Vancouver starting from August. Atleast as per the flight booking shown on their websites.

If you want to move you will have to ready to stay minimum 8-9 months ... PR card will take min that much time to arrive in current scenario. Regarding extension nobody can say for sure there are many people here who are waiting extension. You will have to take that decision based on your own situation and availablity of flights etc.

@mr1989 as per the previous post of few people who have landed you get emails from CA government and in few cases people have also reported that they or someone they know had been visited by officials to confirm that they were following protocols ... There is a link which states that spot checks will be carried out by officials during quarantine.

They are calling people and confirming from them. My friend recently travelled and told me this. If they have some doubt they might visit your quarantine place.

Just because someone else says that they were not contacted means nothing. A few people on here have said they were contacted . Sure the process is random so if you have a spare upto 750k cdn for the fine or fancy checking out the local jail guess you could ignore the quarantine requirement but not advisable and everyone should be responsible.

Worst case if found to not be following mandatory quarantine even PR could be revoked, how likely who knows but anything is possible given how serious the Government is taking this.

Received following in reply to the raised webform-- "ready to travel". What do think about point 1 and 3? Do we have to have a ticket for traveling and lease document (the easiest one among three!) to establish the willingness to live and settle before the extension? Or these can be addressed during our travel upon receiving the CoPR extension?

According to our records, you have indicated that you are now ready to travel to settle and live in Canada as a permanent resident. Currently, only CoPR holders whose travel to Canada is considered essential are able to enter Canada. In addition, some public health measures are in place to limit the spread of COVID-19 in Canada.

Accordingly, we ask that you confirm that you are able to fulfill the requirements described below. In order for IRCC to determine if you can indeed travel to Canada, you must provide the following:

1. Your plans to live and settle in Canada upon arrival
· documents to support your living situation in Canada (i.e. address, lease agreement, home ownership document)
· employment plans in Canada, (i.e. location of work, letter from employer)
· any other relevant information.

2. How you plan to quarantine for 14 days when you arrive in Canada, including how you will have access to groceries, get medical care, and other essential services. While in quarantine, you will not be able to leave your place of quarantine for any reason. This is mandatory even if you have no COVID-19 symptoms.
· proof of funds (i.e, bank and/or credit card statements)

3. your proposed or confirmed travel itinerary
· a description of your proposed or confirmed travel itinerary, including travel tickets if you have already purchased them

Please provide the above information to IRCC by replying to this email. We will evaluate your request upon receipt and let you know whether or not you are approved to travel to Canada at this time.

Please note that only approved permanent residents now able to live and settle in Canada will be allowed into the country at this time due to the ongoing travel restrictions. Travel for temporary stay for reasons such as tourism, entertainment or simply to finalize applications without staying in the country is not allowed and will not be permitted.
