Has any one used Automatic revalidation recently to enter United States from Canada, in case the Visa is expired but have a valid I-797?
I have an expired Visa but valid I-797, I was thinking of using this rule to re enter US as I am not sure when the US embassy ( even in india if needed) would be opened for stamping.

Info : https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/visa-expiration-date/auto-revalidate.html

Also, I have a CoPr valid till 20th Sep 2020. I mailed the officials that I might not be able to travel considering we have an infant during this COIVID situation and they replied us back that we can visit Canada when we are comfortable and need to reach out to them if we plan to go. Hope this should be fine.

Hi Everyone

Is there anyone here applying from India/Mumbai?

Received the mail to submit my passport on March 10 and subsequently submitted the same on March 18 to VFS. On March 21 got an update from IRCC saying that my application was updated. Showed that it was 100% complete and the counterfoil was applicable till October. Guessing this was the COPR.

Just checked the status of my passport again through the VFS tracking link and it showed that it was still in transit. It has been so since March 21, especially since on March 24 the lockdown in India began.

Is there anyone in a similar situation here - Passport submitted and received COPR but waiting for VFS to let us know when to collect the passport? Since it's been close to 3 months, I do find myself getting anxious, with no word from VFS.

Thanks in advance for replying. Good luck with your respective applications!

Have a great day!
Your case and my case are pretty much exactly the same. I got my PPR on 12th March and submitted the passports at the Mumbai VAC/VFS on the 16th. It was subsequently approved on the 21st just like yours and the tracking showed it was in transit as well. After that, I have been stuck in the same situation. I have no clue if my passport is still in Delhi or if it reached Mumbai right before the lockdown. In a case of misguided optimism, I had not opted for the courier service when I submitted the passports so now I don't even know if I need to go to the Mumbai office and collect them personally or if they will provide me an option to opt for the courier service now so that I don't have to make that trip. I have sent emails to VFS only to get automated responses and have tried tweeting on their account but that has been useless as well.

I am hoping that things open up in the first week of July at least.

Good luck to you too.

On a side note, where did you see that your counterfoil was valid till October?

Hello everyone. I have COPR which will expire and in September 2020. I was the Primary Applicant at application stage. I believe I will be able to travel before expiration of COPR but my dependent spouse will be unable to travel due to commitments which have been further complicated by the pandemic.

Can I make a case for the extension of COPR for my spouse as dependent alone, even though I would have already landed.

Would appreciate your opinion. TIA

Is there any chance to fly from India to Dubai first and then take a flight from Dubai to Toronto? Looks like there are some flydubai flights available in July but I dont understand if we will be allowed on those flights since we only have a canada COPR and no UAE visa.
FlyDubai is a small budget carrier and does not fly to Canada. You might be confusing it with Emirates

USA-Canada-USA (14 Day Quarantine) - Returned yesterday after 14 days (Thank you to those who provided me inputs). Here's my overview:

USA-Canada:

1) US side was crowded. I could not check in online so had to stand in the line at the airlines counter (few people did not even wear masks). Security check in had decent social distancing. Boarding mandated wearing masks - flight was practically empty.
2) Upon landing I had a quarantine plan sheet with details on where I am staying, etc. but wasn't asked
3) Immigration was straightforward - Provided friend's address as care of (c/o) and CoPR. Was only asked how much cash I was carrying - no proof of funds requested. CoPR stamped.
4) Customs: I had declared car for some reason - they took it out of the list saying its a separate import process. Rest was straightforward and stamped. The guy was new and said even if my old laptop died, I cannot import a new one (it has to be the old one)

14 Day Quarantine:

1) Pretty much stayed inside and followed rules to the tee (I was in one of the Marriott hotels)
2) For groceries, I did grocerygetaway. Also occasionally did doordash - Idea was to have as healthy diet as I can with some leeway for sanity
3) Did not get any calls - only two emails from the govt of canada. I called up public health to check when exactly I can leave, they gave me a date and I booked return tickets for that date.
4) I did not get SIN or Bank Account - Did not want to extend my days especially due to the looming executive order (I heard someone applied with US address - Not sure if that would work) - I also anyways mostly plan to move next year.

Canada-USA:

1) Canada side was much more organized. Mobile check in, so avoided the crowd at airlines counter. Not a single person was without mask, there was also 360 social distancing as well as wipes next to security check-in to wipe the boxes. Boarding mandated wearing masks - flight was packed.
2) US Immigration: Just took passport and stamped. Neither i-797 nor any questions were asked
3) US side landing was again crowded as you land at domestic side. Wore mask and face-shield. Took sanitizer bottles both ways.

Overall: I feel I made it back in the nick of time in this climate especially with the looming EO. For others trying to attempt USA-Canada, I would suggest wait for the EO. Like others did for me, I am open to help out if you have any questions - just ping me.
Hi - We also did out landing this weekend and self isolating now. Just wanted to know what exactly are the emails you received from Government of Canada? Thanks and good luck with your plans.

I have been self isolating for a week as well and so far no calls or emails. I am just going to call them up at the end of quarantine and let them know myself.

Once it's possible for her to travel there is no case to be made. If her visa expires in July then you could argue it wasn't enough time to plan the travel with most travel at halt still as of today but with most countries reopening in July it will be hard to convince VO why she didn't travel by September. But again no one here can give you accurate information as things are still unclear.

Hi,
Does anyone know if we can travel back from Canada with an expired VISA on H1I-94 with this new EO?

It's a valid travel document but can't be sure. Please post any validated info here.

Thanks

If dependant can not travel and his or her visa stands cancel will it cause any problem to the primary applicant and other dependants if they land before visa expiry I mean if primary applicant and kids land on time but spouse unable then can they refuse entry to PA too? Thanks

Waiting on CoPR extension-

Hi Guys,
I was able to speak to an agent today regarding CoPR extension.

My CoPR has expired on April 24th. Raised two webforms- one before expiry saying unable to travel, one on May 22nd saying ready to travel.
I have received response on the respective webforms. Last Monday (06/15), I have received a message in my portal saying IRCC has received my request of extension and asked me to let them know when I am ready to travel to process the CoPR extension. Maybe due to backlog in the webforms, it took a while to get the update in portal.
Anyway, I was able to talk with a call center agent today after long wait of about 30 mins. I wanted to check if they have received my ready to travel webform and if there is any progress. The agent put me on hold while checking with a system specialist (according to the agent, the system specialist has the most updated information) and said that they have received my ready to travel webform, but there isn't any clear instruction about how to process the CoPR extension to the visa offices. So we have to wait until they receive clear instructions/green light to process the extension. I was asking if they have any information whether we need to send our passport upon approval of the extension. The agent said they don't have any information regarding this also. She has also mentioned that according to her knowledge--none has received CoPR extension so far.

Later, I have asked about the validity of my medical, criminality and security (if there is an expiry date as well). She said both criminality and security is showing pass only and the validity on my medical is 7th April 2021.

Just wanted to share the timeline and information with you guys. At this point, we all have to wait until further instruction comes from IRCC, I guess!
