converting closed work permit to open work permit

All,
I have been working for my employer who is in the work permit for 5 months now and no issues with the job or employer. However, to explore more options, I would like to obtain an open work permit.

Can I apply for an open work permit in this situation?

Please advise.

No, you cannot simply convert a closed work permit to an open work permit. Open Work Permits are given in specific situations, you can't just switch to one.

@samy34178...Did you get your work permit . How long it took . We have applied under GTS on 8th August and given biometrics on 19th August
Called CIC but no response. They said your application is with US visa processing centre,
So not sure whats going on
