convert tourist visa to dependent visa

Hi,
I am currently on work permit in canada. I am getting married in February and want to bring my wife with me. I know that i will need to apply a dependent visa for her which can only happen after marriage and will take time. Is their any provision wherein i can apply visa for her beforehand.

The only way i can think of is to apply a tourist visa now and when she is here get it converted to dependent visa. But i am not sure if that is even possible and if it is possible what are the repercussions. Is their any other way that i can apply her visa in advace so that she can come with me soon after marriage

You can't apply for a dependent visa until you are either married or common law (have lived together for at least one full year).
