There's no specific advantage at QSW, vis-a-vis FSW. Just that it's another way of applying/migrating when the MI List & Cap bothers u. And if one has the proficiency in French, s/he might take this route.

No one can book u for 'life'... yes, initially there's a lock-in pd, u r required to 'land' only in Quebec & reside there for sometime (I'm not sure, but think it's a yr) - later ~~ u r a PR - which allows u free movement along Canada.

Alternative Carreers for Doctors

Can anybody throw some light on alternative carrier options for medicos..
Apart from Health Administration. recently i came across another two..
Health insurance & Medical tourism.
But i am not yet sure about their scope in Canada.!
Suggestions/comments are welcome..

There could be many more, but the u/mentioned three (3) come to my mind:

1. Clinical Research Officers (after a post grad course)
Usually after a certificate program (1 year in length with 3 months internship), which is offered by many colleges, an IMD can be employed in a growing health industry (pharmaceutical, biotechnology & medical devices companies, research institutes & hospitals) involved in development of new drugs and therapies. U could be responsible for conducting clinical trials, which means conducting experiments on humans with new drugs/therapies before these are introduced to the market.

2. Regulatory Affairs Officers (after a post grad course)
Regulatory affairs professionals help businesses ensure that product development, manufacturing and marketing practices meet or exceed government requirements. Again in response to a growing need in the health and food industries, the Regulatory Affairs Officers provide their specialized knowledge to help biotechnology, medical device, pharmaceutical and food companies manage Govtl. regulatory processes.

3. Forensic Health Officers (after a post grad course)
An FHO is gainfully employed in law enforcement organizations. They are often involved in situations where they are required to assess and provide professional assistance to victims of crime. As a result of advances in forensic science, it has become necessary for providers of law enforcement to incorporate FHOs into their service - in order to ensure that not only is the client receiving a high standard of care, but also that forensic evidence is appropriately documented and preserved for subsequent legal proceedings.

How often we can make Enquiry - PPR

Seniors I need a suggestion that how often we can make enquiry regarding our status update without making any bad impression on VO.I done my medical in june since then waiting for PPR.I done last enquiry in first week Oct after three days got reply ' waiting review by immigration officer' since then nothing no update.This waiting is serously killing torture.

It's sure not wise to communicate with CHCs often. However, there'd be times when we just might not be able to avoid it. Thus, we may do so under the following timeframes, which is just my personal opinion:

1. General Pre-Med situation/s: Once in every 2-3 months
2. When the Med is delayed (8 months from 2nd AOR): Once every month, or month & half
3. Post meds: Nothing till 4 months
4. After 4 months: Once in 1.5-2 months
5. Beyond 7 months: Once every 20-30 days (we r bound to be perturbed now)

Besides u cannot take a Draft in INR, u cannot obtain one too.
The draft has to drawn in one of the canadian Banks & thus, has to be in CAD !

1. Your occupation is not eligible [currently] for Canadian PR.
2. As u r already on a TRV in Canada - look for an employer - they could process your TWP.
3. With that TWP u may start working & after a yr. apply for the PR, under CEC.
