Contacting family members on PR application

Hi, does anybody know if family members (ie my parents) who must be listed on my PR application, will be contacted? We are estranged and I don't want them to know my business. Thanks for any help.

Mine neither.....I think if you have declared you are not going to sponsor them in the future, it is more a security check thing. They run your parents names through a database to make sure no red flags are raised.

There appears no need to contact the parents, as they are not the ones ever coming to Canada.

This is a guess by the way, mainly made from lots of comments on this forum about similar situations.
