Hi all, I am a US citizen working in Canada on a TWP. Before I came here, I was an independent contractor in the US. Now, one of my former clients in the US wants me to do a small project for them.

As I understand it:

1) Because I am on a TWP, I cannot perform the work in Canada, even for a US-based client.

2) If I visit the US and perform the work there, no problem.

Do I understand correctly? Thanks -

No quite, you can work remotely for a US employer from Canada, but not for Canadian clients without a work permit.
