Dear Sister,

I expected this reply & also foresaw the timing. As u r well aware I haven't recd my visa. But, I'm quite knowledgeable on the matter, might be due to my higher age bracket and the experience/exposure I gained along my half-century. But, I accept your point too, you might be right And I can be fully wrong, I might've gone bonkers also.

My filing destination is Toronto (as I've a business there, established in Aug 2009). Thus, my COPR shall also have it as Toronto. However, I'll be landing at Calgary. Open my branch there and then shall come over to Toronto. And I'll have no probs. Why? 1-as I explained earlier; 2-that box & codes u refer is linked to the entire CIC/CBSA/JUDIC system; 3-Live Example: Five days before, my colleague landed at Calgary (COPR: Toronto) to organise my new office there.

Warm regards.

So the POE mentioned in CPR is just for show?

I am not sure if this is the discussion (I don't want to read the whole thread) but from everything I read on this forum, you can land anywhere other than Quebec, no matter where you said you will land initially. That is for FSW at least.

Who is this famous mamata banerjee?

You can land in Quebec as well, as long as you manage to convince the officer that you are not intending to settle there.

Yep that is correct. I think if you have an onward flight, that is enough. PMM knows more about this.

Yes, or bus tickets proving you are going somewhere else, etc. This was the letter I got from the consulate along with my COPR and visa.

If you are planning to drive off, or haven't made travel arrangements yet, it might be a tougher sell. I personally would just make sure that I land somewhere else to save myself the worry.

Further to Rupesh & Karl's posts,

99% the IO at the POE shall not ask even, 'why we landed here' (except for Quebec). And even if he/she does, a simple answer (2 given below) will see u thru:
1. 'I am visiting friends here and shall be leaving for xyz on xyz date'.
2. 'I want to show my family the Niagra Falls, later shall be leaving for xyz on xyz date'. (and similar)

There are plenty of guys who did that (many also on this forum) and sailed nicely.

qorax, You are right. My if you reply to my further question, I will be thankful to you. Suppose my destination in CoPR is Edmonton and I land in Toronto. I will be able to enter Toronto as you said in above post. But can I have all cards (SIN, PR & Health) from Ontario or for that I have to move to Alberta? Thanks.

1. SIN & PR Cards are Federal subjects, thus can be done from anywhere. Except quebec, plz see my previous post for that.
2. Health is a Provincial subject, thus can only be done at ur province of resident. Morover, u won't need to do anything on this in the POE.

so as per our Senior Members, port of landing is not an issue..................
thanks to all of you, for clarifying that
as some members had other views
