Assuming he is either a PR or Citizen, once you are married, he will have to sponsor you. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/sponsor/spouse.asp

he is original from canada and resident there. when we get married here he will sponsor me. but this issue is bugging him that "we need joint property, credit cards, bank accounts" is this really necessary because he think we might have problem regarding on this issue. please help because we really wanted everything will be good before applying for spousal visa. thanks a lot.
