Nope... Almost zero possibility.
This was an older post and I had email subscription for replies. (disable most of them by now)
I don't want to repeat what he/she wrote... (not so nice wordings...)
But he/she said a COPR was received. Then when I check the forum, that post is gone.

Yes, I saw that post yesterday. When I went to respond, it had been deleted. Either it was reported and mods deleted it or the poster deleted it themselves.

This is why I tend to quote the post(s) that I'm responding to. It wastes forum space but maintains context. Also means that posters can't retract :D

Yeah, I always quote as well. I wish I had had time to respond when I first saw the posts.

Hi,

This is quite an interesting and informative conversations for conjugal sponsorship.

Was wondering how are our chances on our application? We just applied under conjugal sponsorship. We have our relationship for over 4yrs now. PA is from Philippines, she was once approved for TRV and came here to Canada but then weren't able to stay for a year coz her passport and visa will expires before we will be able to complete the 12months of living together. So she had to go back. We can't get married due to status of her being married but already separated even before we met. We got pregnant while she was in Canada. Btw just recently before we submitted the PR application she tried to apply for TRV and it was refused. We tried to provide as much proof as we can to show our relationship is legit. Hoping it all goes well. So far now medical is passed. Still a long way to go...

Is divorce illegal in the Philippines?

The fact that she was able to obtain a TRV before and be in Canada may be held against you for conjugal. She could have applied to renew her passport and then extended her stay in Canada to become common-law.

That might be a possible question for us. But its because of the TRV coinciding with the delivery date of her pregnancy too that we decided it's best and less worry for us if she goes back to her country. We just hope that they could consider our explanation. We actually did renew her passport and applied for extension and it was approved but the thing even if she extend it, it won't complete the 12months coz TRV is less than a year already.

The validity of the TRV was irrelevant to her length of stay. A person can be in Canada with valid status and an expired TRV. That really may be held against you for conjugal.

Oh Thank you for your insights. I guess we just have to be prepared for all the possible questions with regards to our application and maybe for other possible ways to have them here. Hope we could get answers from them soon.
