My wife has been living in the UK with me for the last five years and she is my sponsor. We had a letter from CIC stating that:
"You have met the requirements for eligibility as a sponsor. Accordingly, the Application for Permanent
Residence for your relative(s) has been forwarded to a visa office abroad for further processing." We had provided all the info - bank statements, tenancy agreement, employment job offer etc.

There were was an additional information request in that we had failed to sign one of the forms - The Additional Family Info Form (IMM5406) - So we sent this back and from what I can gather has been received. I got an email today requesting that I provide "Evidence that your sponsor resides in Canada." and that the deadline is today. Any ideas - Why would they ask for this information? grhhh. Freaking out - as far as I know they have everything they need and we were very thorough.

Assuming your wife is a Canadian citizen and not a PR, you need to provide proof that you will move to Canada and live there as soon as your PR visa is approved. Did you provide any proof of this kind in your original application?

If your wife is a PR (rather than a citizen), then you have a much bigger problem on your hands.

My wife is Canadian and has a canadain citizenship
We supplied all of the information they needed for intending to settle, even down a signed tenancy agreement.
Bank Stetements and even a guaranteed job offer from my wifes prevoius employment. They have Everything!!
I dont know what to do.

resend what you have, and write a letter explaining your plans.
