I need help,

I met my husband last march 2012 . He is a canadian - divorce and I am a filipina . On march 2013 he came to philippines to meet me as well as his first visit to my country. And he decided to come back on february this year and we finally got married 3.12.2014. And he flew back to canada on march 27th. Now , i got confused on my side where to start then . My husband has 5 kids to his ex- wife . He is 37 and i am 29.
We had a beach wedding together with family member and friends and exclusive dinner a max of 30 person only. We had our reception on the same area of the beachfront and we didn't had plenty of pictures as it was raining on the day of our wedding. I haven't started yet on my papers as I am waiting for some additional information on my elementary and HS records that is needed on the spousal/sponsored questionnaire.
Here are some proof that we have:

i.yahoo/skype/fb conversation
ii.plane ticket ( his ticket going back-and-forth to philippines)
iii.Hotel receipt where we stayed . 1st and 2nd hotel. Condo receipt.
iv.Financial support
v.letters from family and friends who knows our relationship
vi.pictures from last year / wedding pictures
vii.wedding planner and wedding venue and reception receipt
viii.trips ticket receipt
ix.letter from his parents why they are not able to fly to philippines to attend our wedding
x.smartbro receipt every load purchased (since im using load up only on my computer instead of plan)
xi. IDD records( since im the one who will call him and its cheaper )

Please anyone can help me for more proof to provide ? We got already our marriage certificate signed on the local municipal here in cebu where we held our wedding and we are waiting for the yellow copy issued at NSO next 2 months. Would it be a problem why i marry a man with 5 kids? He would have the 3 older kids every second week and the 2 little kids are with his ex-wife . Exchange basis every month.
We talked almost 3x a day.
Please , i need help now.

Hi.. you dont have to worry about more proofs.. i think all you listed above are sufficient enough.. You have more proofs in hand than when i submitted my application.. But our relationship is true and sincere. So as long as your relationship is honest and really sincere there would be no reaspon for CEM to question your application..

I would suggest you to continue filling up your application and read the guide carefully so you wouldn't make any mistakes on it.

Yes it is a problem marrying a man who has 5 kids, especially if you dont have children yourself. However, I think you have larger red flags, such as he's a divorced, older man, you are a younger, never married woman. No one from his family attended the wedding.

However, I think you have some positive things:

-he didn't marry you on the first visit, he waited a year after first visit to marry you (very positive sign for an online relationship)
-you met online, but from the time you first met to your marriage was 2 years, you guys did not rush the relationship
-you communicate on a daily basis
-you have support letters from family + friends

Some suggestions on more proof could be:

-show more pics of him hanging out with your family, or his friends hanging out with you, vice versa. VOs love it when you guys show pics of each other's families and friends co-mingling with each other, it shows that you guys are trying to integrate into each other's families and circle of friends
-photocopy any love letters or gifts you guys sent each other, along with the envelopes they came in (the envelopes are important because they show the dates you sent them)
-photocopy all things related to the wedding, such as receipts, invoices with the company's letterhead on top, receipts from restaurant, decorations, food, etc
-send them an actual original of your wedding invitation and menu

Good luck

The age gap (8 years) isn't that big, especially since the husband is older. I don't think that, in itself, is a red flag.

Agreed. These are NOT red flags for CEM, perhaps some other VO's. This is very normal for the Philippines. I also agree you have sufficient evidence to support a Family Class application for Canadian PR.

Thank you zelhdjt
I'm just wondering about my part that's why I'm not started yet and I do appreciate your opinion maybe we are the same come from philippines. My husband is a canadian citizen has a house and work .
Have a wonderful day

Thank you mykeymike

I don't know if it make sense to VO why I marry a guy that has 5 kids. He is a citizen to his country . I'm just wondering what else I can do . Yes he is divorce. We waited till we decided to get married . But due to some religious values that his parents didn't attend our wedding. And its a civil and small wedding. And im hoping our letter is acceptable and its raining on our wedding. I think I'll sent that picture that anyone commented id love to kiss on wet summer. :)

Hi everyone,

Been in Canada since 2015 landed as PR and hasn’t leave in the country since then. My passport expired 2018 and didn’t renewed it since I didn’t leave the country. Now, I’m thinking of applying citizenship but my worries is if I’d be in trouble of not holding a valid passport of my home country when applying citizenship? Does anyone has similar issues I have?
