Community support (Refugee) or normal immigration

Hello All

I have the option to apply as a Syrian refugee via the community support program. However, i can also apply for the express entry program
Which one do you think is better? What are the cons and pros?

Hmmmm....personally, if I had the choice I’d choose express entry. A refugee claim always seems, IMO, to carry significantly more risk and restrictions than any other immigration stream. Apart from RO that every PR needs to meet, there are the travel restrictions, waiting for approval (which can change frequently), reavailment, separation from family/friends, etc. Through EE, you don’t face these issues.

EE will likely be faster as well.

There is no comparison. If you can apply for Express Entry and you are qualified just go for it. It is MUCH faster and you can return to Syria whenever you want. Also no hearing, no waiting for PR, and no Travel Document. Just 3 years in Canada and apply for Citizenship.

You can of course apply for both and see what comes first.
