I just read like you had suggested and I now have a better understanding. I appreciate the help and I realize this is just a big waiting game.
Would this at all be a lot easier if we were to get married?

Easier? Well, yes, because you wouldn't have the burden of providing proof of cohabiting for a year prior to applying.

If marriage was an option before, you might consider it sooner than later.

If it's any consolation, yours is a very common and straightforward story...unless she has inadmissibility concerns (criminality).

Good luck!

Thank you my friend. Luckily there are no boundaries limiting us to what we want to do, other than a border and time. This all seems quite daunting and in a sense I see why they make it so difficult to just move to another country and be with someone you love, but at the same time it should be this difficult should it?
Thank yoU!

You're very welcome.

You are actually one of the lucky ones because you have time to start assembling your evidence of your relationship NOW, rather than scrambling to find things when you are preparing the application package.

Look into adding her to your bank account, cell plan, etc., sooner than later. Banks like the Bank of Nova Scotia, TD, will allow her to be added to your account.
