I have a misunderstanding of the common law for a PR application. I've been with my boyfriend since 2014. But we've been living together in Canada for over a year. Do I have to prove our common-law relationship for the whole period that we are together or I have to send the documents only for the last year?

You have to have proof that you are common law so a joint lease for at least a year - shows cohabitation. You should provide proof of your whole relationship say with pictures, family meetings etc
