I was here for 6 months starting last July. I got an extension for 3 months. I left and went back to the states for 3 months and came back. I just came back in mid July for a short visit. The guy gave me till the end of Sept to leave. I told him I was wanting to come back in Dec with my BF when he comes to visit me For Thanksgiving. He told me I could not come back for 6 months. I had to establish myself in the states. We talked to someone at the call center and he said he doesn't see why the guy said that to me. What are my chances of being able to come back in Dec? When I do come back we want to put in for my PR.

Only the IO that you meet at the border can answer that question with 100% certainty.

The IO you met before told you that you had to establish yourself in the states, he/she is likely to have placed a note on your electronic file.

Read the notes for visitors at the CIC Web site, it will help you prepare for your visit.

Why do you want to wait to apply for PR, do you intend to file common law?

So my chances of coming back in are slim.
Yes we intend to do the common law thing unless I get a surprise by the real question soon..

I would say as a US citizen your chances are better than some visitors.
Read the CIC info' and meet their conditions, plan for the worst, expect the best.

If you get the question :)

FWIW the call centre folk don't always give the right answers.

I am guessing I go back to the states. He comes to visit my family. We get on a plane land and they either let me in or tell me no and I have to get a flight back to the states. Is there a place to call to check on your status on coming back in?

No - unfortunately there's no way to check your status ahead of time. The decision is really up to the individual immigration official you speak to when you cross the border.

They give me a visa every time I come in.

Do you mean a visitor record, or a stamp in your passport with a date under it?
