I am also wondering about this? I am not even sure what certificate of qualification means? I am under 9241..
That is the million dollar questions lots of people have been searching for answer. I believe the certficate of qualification refer to the trade certification issued by different provincies in Canada.
Go to www.red-seal.ca and you wil get more details, but the difficult part is that it seems you have to be in Canada to right the releveant exams for your trade or NOC code. No one on this forum has been able to offer 100% answer as to if one can write this exam from outside of canada.

Yes certificate of qualification can only be obtained whilst you are in Canada and you need to pass an exam also.much_mann said:

However; to go this route time is of the essence due to the application cap of 3,000

I have a break through here. Finally I have found how to get Certificate of qualification from Canadian provincial/territorial body if you are outside of Canada. It seems near to impossible but one can still try.

Find out the name and address of the professional regulatory body governing your profession/trade in the province or territory where you intend to settle by enquiring with CICIC.
Write to the regulatory body and ask about the specific requirements and costs for licensing, certification, or registration, as well as the recommended procedure for an assessment. The regulatory body will advise you concerning the required documentation and the fees for assessment.
I summarise the above. OK everything seems clear about Federal Skilled Trades Class LIE. Then my question is so simple;
Why my lawyer thinks (he is pretty sure) that he can get a certificate on behalf of me if I send him all my documents, references,etc. related to my professional competence? (Even I have never been to Canada before)
He is a Canadian citizen and says my certificate will not be the first one for him. Is it possible someone to get a certificate for you?

As far as I have researched, in order to obtain a certificate, you must pass the test in Canada. Also, not everyone is going to be allowed to show on the test. Trade organisation first evaluates your education, work experience, they call your employers by phone to ask about you and then decide if they are going to give you a chance at all.abit said:

Guys,the first stage is to get an approval letter from Apprenticeship and Occupational Certification and i think you can get this from outside Canada...you must fill a form,list there all your work experience in trade, all contact info from your previous employer ,because they will call to check ,you will need your certificate from your country translated in English,pay some fee depend in what province you ask for this approval letter.If they are satisfied you will get this approval letter and they will give you a frame time to write the exam( in New Brunswick is 3 years and in Alberta i think is just 1 year) ...This approval letter is very important because if you have it you can start working in your field ,no matter if you took the red seal exam
May I ask what trade? and how you applied? and what was requested? (oh also seeing the date) did you sit the exam and pass? if so did you sit the exam in Canada on a visitor visa or which visa?
