My bf suggest thats its possible to life permanently in Canada(he is Canadian) with an expanded eTA after a year of cohabitation, is he right?

An ETA is only an authority for visa exempt passport holders to board a plane for Canada. If you live with your BF for one year plus than that would be considered a common law relationship at which point your Bf could sponsor you for permenant residency.

You cannot as a temp resident/ visitor stay for more than 6 months without applying to extend your stay as a visitor and for sure with temp resident/visitor status you cannot live in Canada on any sort of permanent basis. You must continue to ensure you stay legally by using the extend stay as a visitor application.

To be sure:

Its okay i have a eTA for two times 6 months?
We can apply for a PR after a year of cohabitation

It really can't be explained any clearer than in the post in the other thread:

I already mentioned it in the post you quoted, but let me elucidate:

While you are in Canada, you have to apply for an extension of your visitor status just before your 6 months is up. It is a different process from the eTA entirely.

Yeah already got that.
Can a expanded eTA a good basic to become his common law partner

An ETA usually gets applied for 5 years. Mines did (came with PGWP). How long was your ETA for? An ETA is different than a visa (which you don't need as you are getting an ETA). You just apply on line for an ETA. If you live with him for a year he can sponsor you as common-law spouse. Again nothing to do with an ETA. The term expanded ETA does not exist. The ETA is just a travel authorization for anyone from a country that doesn't need a visa to travel here. As has been said on the thread numerous times, you need to apply for an extension of your Visitor Status....Not ETA...not Visa.....Visitor Status.
