Classes over, waiting for extension

Hi college issued my enrollment letter with the wrong graduation date and so did IRCC with my study permit. I applied for an extension together with my spouse -Study P. and Spouse OWP- according to IRCC estimate processing time. My classes ended 30 days ago and still no answer about my extension. We're both in maintained status now and waiting for my graduate status to be issued next week to apply for PGWP.

Does anybody have any guess whether they can approve an extension under these circumstances? We need a non-expired visa to have maintained status while applying for PGWP as we both have to work here. Any help much appreciated

when Did your previous study permit expire? Was the refusal and reapplication within 90 days? Unfortunately there are huge backlogs for processing so it’s really unfortunate thatyou didn’t pick up the error in graduation date. If it was just IRCC’s error you could have asked for reconsideration.

Once you have completion letter and transcript you can apply for the pgwp. Most likely IRCC will base decision based on the LOA submitted to extend your SP+SOWP. If it is expired by the time they make decision, they will either refuse or ask for revised one. If you dont intend to continue studying after obtaining your pgwp, you can withdraw. keep in mind, you need to have qualified NOC for your SOWP

Thanks for helping! It wasn't IRCC error as the college issued my letter with the wrong date. Our visas expired at the end of July and classes ended in August. We applied for an extension before expiration date according to IRCC estimated processing time, but it wasn't enough so now we are in maintained status.

We are considering applying for PGWP next week when completion letter will be issued, but since our current visa is already expired, we were told that we would not have maintained status if we applied for PGWP before SP-extension is approved? I'm afraid we will not be allowed to work anymore if the extension gets rejected before or while PGWP is still being processed.

My spouse has a NOC B job already and I'm trying to find one as well, but this visa situation is scaring employers off.

Just posting the results in case someone is going through the same situation. My visa has finally arrived, IRCC issued a new visa that will expire on March 31st, 2023. Even though classes ended months ago, they gave us 3 months to settle everything and apply for a PGWP
